I know we just celebrated the first day of Spring, but I’m thinking about Summer today as I add a new class to my Teachable school – “Summer Tubular” Earrings. Although it’s an older class, I think it’s a timeless earring!
The course contains three videos, plus complete written instructions (which are downloadable) for the project. You can preview a video and the Materials List at this link: Summer Tubular Earrings | Karen Long Designs (teachable.com)
Suitable for beginners!
Tubular herringbone stitch forms the base using 11/0 seed beads. The fringe contains a variety of beads ranging in size from 3mm to 6mm. I’ve had students use pearls, shells, metal beads, etc., in addition to more traditional beads like bicones or bugle beads. This earring eats up your bead stash – the only limit is your imagination! They can be playful or sophisticated, depending on your bead selections. Personally, I go for playful… I have three colorful pairs that I wear a lot.
Quick and easy… they make great gifts! How many will you make?
Cheers for Summer!
