Peyote – Odd Count

TwoSwatches_Final

This is another “techniques” class for beginning beaders, or those who want a refresher.  Peyote stitch is the basis for so many beading projects, and I feel it’s a must-know stitch for anyone tackling beadweaving.

The focus of this class is Odd Count peyote stitch.  It is used anytime you want a center bead, i.e., to create a symmetrical pattern, or come to a point at the end (as shown on the pendants in the photo).

Students work on a pendant, while learning to read a graph/word chart.  Thread management, creating a tube bail, and decreasing using hidden turns are also covered.  Both patterns shown above are included in the class handouts.

This is an ongoing recurrent class, offered the third Wednesday of each month.

Active class – tutorials are NOT available at this time
