Since my last post, I’ve managed to get over my design slump by beading something for myself!  “Winding Roads” is a small box I created, and it has an unusual construction, beginning at the top.  (It stands about 3″ high by 2″ wide.)  I doubt that I will ever offer it as a tutorial or class, but it’s a piece of art that I cherish.  And, it opened my mind to some techniques that could be used for class items.  Some of you may recognize the lid as a variation from the Heart Pagoda!

I love it when I can incorporate older designs into new projects…“Stella Goes Baroque” evolved from the Stella Nova stars I designed in 2018.  Several students wondered about making a more “cross-like” appearance, and this is the result.

I’m happy to announce that I will be teaching it as Add-On Class for the Summer 2020 Heart of Texas Bead Retreat (June 11-14, 2020) in Grapevine TX.  My class is only open to retreat attendees, but the retreat may still have some spots available, so check it out.  

Today, I’m finalizing/printing the handouts for a new bracelet class… 

“This’n That” is an advanced class that was created when I wanted to showcase some beautiful lampwork cabochons that I received as a birthday gift.   I don’t really like bead embroidery and used my favorite form of bezeling, which begins on the back, to enclose them.

As most of you know, I love graphic patterns and this bracelet allowed me to make lots of different patterns as I created the bezels.  I also incorporated some Backlit Czech cabochons and Rivolis into my personal bracelet.  Class debuts February 15th at Sea of Beads.  This first offering is already full, but look for it again in the coming months!
